Ahead of the French GP, the development race in VFC is picking up serious momentum once again. Twelve teams have activated new upgrade stages and made another clear step forward before Magny-Cours. Only Ottimale EM remains unchanged. This time, the range goes from smaller fine-tuning updates to major all-round packages that affect almost the entire car.

Optiminal Esports – the major all-round package

Optiminal Esports brings one of the most eye-catching packages of the weekend:

  • Downforce: 6 → 8

  • Drag: 8 → 9

  • Weight: 6 → 8

  • Diffuser: 4 → 5

  • Engine cooling: 1 → 2

  • Brake cooling: 0 → 1

  • Fuel consumption: 2 → 3

With that, Optiminal is working on several core areas at once and is making clear gains in aero performance, technical reliability and efficiency.

Razor GP – strong progress across multiple areas

Razor GP is also making a noticeable step forward ahead of France:

  • Drag: 8 → 9

  • Weight: 7 → 9

  • Internal components: 2 → 4

  • Diffuser: 4 → 5

Razor is therefore investing in a package that strengthens both the car’s technical foundation and its outright performance.

Falcon Simracing – a clear aero-focused step

Falcon Simracing is concentrating on aerodynamics:

  • Downforce: 6 → 8

  • Drag: 6 → 8

It is a clear statement from Falcon, raising the car’s baseline performance in two key areas.

Blue Horns Racing – compact but effective

Blue Horns Racing brings a smaller, but still important update:

  • Downforce: 7 → 8

  • Weight: 6 → 7

That allows the team to improve both balance and the car’s overall performance.

Team Rookie Monsters – a much broader package

Rookie Monsters is investing in several areas ahead of France:

  • Drag: 6 → 8

  • Weight: 6 → 8

  • Internal components: 1 → 2

  • Diffuser: 3 → 5

This is a strong package that improves both aero efficiency and the car’s technical base.

Simspark Racing – one of the strongest packages of the weekend

Simspark Racing makes a major move ahead of the French GP:

  • Downforce: 8 → 9

  • Drag: 7 → 9

  • Weight: 6 → 8

  • Diffuser: 3 → 5

  • Engine cooling: 1 → 2

  • Fuel consumption: 2 → 3

  • KERS regen: 0 → 1

That gives Simspark one of the biggest overall packages in France, with improvements across almost all of the most important performance areas.

SVL Racing – a clear step forward

SVL Racing is also making a significant move:

  • Downforce: 6 → 8

  • Drag: 6 → 8

  • Weight: 5 → 7

  • Internal components: 0 → 2

  • Diffuser: 3 → 4

  • Fuel consumption: 0 → 2

It is a broad package that strengthens both the aero side and the technical substance of the car.

Arrow Racing – arguably the biggest package on the grid

Arrow Racing unleashes a huge upgrade wave ahead of France:

  • Downforce: 6 → 8

  • Drag: 6 → 8

  • Weight: 6 → 8

  • Internal components: 3 → 4

  • Diffuser: 3 → 4

  • Engine cooling: 1 → 2

  • Brake cooling: 1 → 2

  • Fuel consumption: 2 → 3

  • KERS regen: 1 → 2

  • KERS battery size: 1 → 2

  • Engine performance: 3 → 4

This gives Arrow what is arguably the most comprehensive package of the entire weekend and sends a major statement in the development race.

Horizon Motorsport – focus on efficiency and foundations

Horizon Motorsport is focusing on four areas:

  • Drag: 10 → 11

  • Weight: 8 → 10

  • Internal components: 0 → 2

  • Diffuser: 2 → 4

Horizon stays true to its direction and continues building on its existing strengths in a very consistent way.

Seawolf NetRace Motorsport – another major step

Seawolf NetRace Motorsport is also making a strong move:

  • Drag: 7 → 9

  • Weight: 8 → 9

  • Internal components: 3 → 4

  • Engine cooling: 1 → 2

  • Brake cooling: 1 → 2

That means Seawolf is continuing to improve both the technical platform and the efficiency of its overall package.

VEGA – targeted development

VEGA also arrives with a strong package:

  • Drag: 9 → 10

  • Weight: 8 → 9

  • Internal components: 2 → 3

  • Diffuser: 4 → 5

  • Engine performance: 0 → 1

VEGA is making further gains in several key areas and continues to refine the car in a focused way.

Spinardi – broad technical and aero update

Spinardi is also among the teams taking a clear step forward:

  • Drag: 7 → 9

  • Weight: 6 → 8

  • Internal components: 3 → 4

  • Diffuser: 4 → 5

  • Engine cooling: 1 → 2

This package clearly strengthens both the technical base and the aero performance of the car.

Ahead of the French GP, it is becoming increasingly clear how intense the VFC development race has become. While Ottimale EM is the only team staying unchanged, twelve teams are bringing fresh upgrades to the grid. The biggest statements come from Arrow Racing, Optiminal Esports, Simspark Racing and SVL Racing, but teams such as Razor GP, Rookie Monsters, VEGA and Seawolf NetRace Motorsport are also making significant steps. Once again, the message is clear: in VFC 2026, progress is not only fought for on track, but also week after week through development work.
