Belgian GP: New Team Upgrades – Full Overview

After several development-heavy race weekends, things are a little quieter ahead of the Belgian GP. Only Blue Horns Racing, Ottimale EM, Horizon Motorsport and VEGA are bringing new upgrades, while the rest of the grid remains on its previous development level. This time, the focus is mainly on targeted individual improvements rather than large-scale packages.

Blue Horns Racing – more engine performance

Blue Horns Racing is making a clear step on the power unit side:

• Engine performance: 3 → 4

With this upgrade, the team is specifically investing in engine performance. At the same time, the temporary downforce upgrade from Austria expires, meaning the value drops from 10* back to 8.

Ottimale EM – the biggest package ahead of Belgium

Ottimale EM brings the most comprehensive upgrade package this time:

• Downforce: 8 → 9

• Engine cooling: 1 → 3

• Brake cooling: 1 → 2

• Fuel flow: 0 → 1

The biggest change is the major step in engine cooling. At the same time, Ottimale is also improving downforce, brake cooling and fuel flow, developing several different areas of the car at once.

Horizon Motorsport – focus on fuel consumption

Horizon Motorsport opts for a single technical upgrade:

• Fuel consumption: 1 → 2

After several larger development steps in previous rounds, Horizon is focusing on efficiency this time and specifically improving fuel consumption.

VEGA – major downforce step

VEGA brings a clear aero upgrade to Belgium:

• Downforce: 6 → 8

With two additional levels of downforce, this is a significant step despite the otherwise relatively small number of upgrades across the grid. VEGA continues its steady development path and improves one of the car’s key performance areas.

Ahead of the Belgian GP, the development race is noticeably calmer than it has been in recent weeks. Blue Horns Racing, Ottimale EM, Horizon Motorsport and VEGA are the only teams bringing new development stages. Ottimale EM stands out with the broadest package, while VEGA also makes a clear step with its downforce increase.

For the rest of the field, it is a case of waiting for now. After the many investments made over the previous races, several teams appear to be holding back resources — potentially with the next major development phase of VFC 2026 already in mind.
