After the season opener in Melbourne, the development race in the 2026 VFC moves straight on to the next round. Four teams are bringing new upgrades to the Malaysian Grand Prix – and are making an early statement.
Razor GP – clear aero step

Razor GP takes a big step forward in aero performance:
Downforce: 4 → 6
Drag: 3 → 5
By upgrading both areas at once, Razor is making an early push to reduce the gap and strengthen their overall package.
Team Rookie Monsters – efficient development

Rookie Monsters also brings targeted aero progress.
Downforce: 1 → 2
Drag: 4 → 5
In terms of direction, it’s the same upgrade path as Razor GP, but on a smaller scale—a measured step forward that still signals clear intent in the development race.
Horizon Motorsport – full focus on Drag

Horizon continues with the next step of their development plan.
Drag: 8 → 9
This upgrade is free of charge, granted through their downforce/aero engineer Bertrand Facheux. The focus is obvious: everything into Drag.
VEGA – the biggest upgrade package

VEGA arrives with the largest overall package for Malaysia.
Downforce: 3 → 4
Drag: 5 → 6
Weight: 6 → 7
By improving multiple areas at once, VEGA underlines that they’re not only ambitious on track—but also among the most committed teams when it comes to development work.
While part of the grid is still waiting and saving resources, Razor GP, Rookie Monsters, Horizon Motorsport and VEGA have already upgraded ahead of the Malaysia GP. It’s an early sign that VFC 2026 won’t be decided only on track—development decisions will matter just as much.
