After a few relatively quiet development rounds, the upgrade race in VFC is picking up pace again ahead of the British GP. A total of nine teams have activated new development stages. While some teams are focusing on individual areas, others are bringing larger packages that affect several key performance categories at once.

Optiminal Esports – broad technical and performance package

Optiminal Esports makes progress in five areas:

  • Drag: 9 → 10

  • Weight: 8 → 10

  • Internal components: 0 → 2

  • KERS regen: 0 → 1

  • KERS battery size: 0 → 1

Optiminal is spreading its development across several areas at once. Alongside Drag and Weight, the team is strengthening the technical foundation of the car and also developing the KERS system for the first time.

Razor GP – focus on reliability

Razor GP brings a single upgrade this time:

  • Engine durability: 1 → 2

After introducing larger development packages in previous races, Razor is focusing specifically on engine reliability ahead of the British GP.

Blue Horns Racing – three targeted steps

Blue Horns Racing improves the car in three key areas:

  • Downforce: 8 → 9

  • Weight: 7 → 8

  • Diffuser: 4 → 5

The team combines more downforce with further weight development and an improved diffuser, resulting in a compact but well-rounded package.

Team Rookie Monsters – one of the biggest packages

Team Rookie Monsters is among the teams bringing the most extensive changes ahead of the British GP:

  • Downforce: 5 → 7

  • Drag: 9 → 11

  • Weight: 9 → 10

  • Internal components: 2 → 3

  • KERS regen: 1 → 2

  • Tire change: 0 → 2

That means Rookie Monsters is making progress in six different areas. The large gains in Downforce and Drag stand out in particular, alongside the new upgrade for tyre change performance.

Arrow Racing – major technical overhaul

Arrow Racing also brings a very broad package:

  • Weight: 9 → 11

  • Internal components: 4 → 5

  • Diffuser: 4 → 5

  • Engine cooling: 2 → 3

  • Brake cooling: 2 → 3

  • KERS regen: 2 → 3

  • KERS battery size: 2 → 3

Arrow improves no fewer than seven areas. This time, the focus is less on the classic aero values and more on weight, cooling, KERS and the technical platform.

Horizon Motorsport – major step in the core performance areas

Horizon Motorsport makes clear progress in four areas:

  • Downforce: 4 → 6

  • Drag: 11 → 12

  • Weight: 10 → 12

  • Internal components: 2 → 4

The increases in Downforce, Weight and Internal Components are particularly significant. Horizon is therefore developing several fundamental performance areas at the same time.

Seawolf NetRace Motorsport – weight and fuel consumption

Seawolf brings two new development stages:

  • Weight: 9 → 11

  • Fuel consumption: 1 → 2

The team is making a significant step in weight development while also improving fuel consumption.

VEGA – two targeted upgrades

VEGA makes progress in two areas:

  • Weight: 9 → 10

  • Tire change: 0 → 2

Alongside further weight development, VEGA is investing heavily in tyre change performance for the first time. The temporary upgrades from the previous race weekend are no longer active.

Spinardi – clear aero step

Spinardi brings a strong package in the core performance areas:

  • Downforce: 6 → 8

  • Drag: 9 → 10

  • Weight: 9 → 10

The two-level increase in Downforce stands out in particular. Together with improvements in Drag and Weight, Spinardi continues to develop its overall package in a very consistent way.

Ahead of the British GP, the VFC development race is becoming significantly more active again. Optiminal Esports, Razor GP, Blue Horns Racing, Team Rookie Monsters, Arrow Racing, Horizon Motorsport, Seawolf NetRace Motorsport, VEGA and Spinardi are all bringing new upgrades.

The packages from Arrow Racing and Team Rookie Monsters are particularly extensive, while Optiminal Esports and Horizon Motorsport are also making several major development steps. Falcon Simracing, Simspark Racing, Ottimale EM and SVL Racing remain unchanged. The battle for technical development therefore continues at full pace in the second half of the VFC 2026 season.
