The VFC will start the new era in 2026 with a completely new set of rules: new technical specifications, adjusted resource and development limits, and revised season management will ensure more strategy and excitement. In addition, there will be an expanded starting field with new teams and fresh driver duos, which will reshuffle the balance of power. In short, 2026 will be faster, more tactical – and significantly more unpredictable.

With the new chassis generation, the VFC 2026 is undergoing a major technical change: the previous V8 is being replaced by modern V6 turbo engines. The new vehicle concept is specially designed for turbo power, efficiency and the changed packaging – and presents teams and drivers with a completely new challenge.

The upgrade system has also been revamped for 2026: development is more strictly regulated, upgrades must be planned more carefully, and every step can determine the balance of power. At the same time, new technical rules and limits ensure greater fairness – and reward teams that perfectly combine strategy, timing and resource management.

With 13 teams, the VFC 2026 has set a new record – the starting grid has never been this big. New teams and fresh driver duos bring additional excitement and ensure that the cards are completely reshuffled in the team standings.

The engine will become much more strategic in 2026: only five engines will be available per driver throughout the entire season. At the same time, the power characteristics will change noticeably due to the turbo and regulations – making the set-up crucial every weekend. In addition, teams will be able to work specifically on durability and performance through upgrades, making engine development a real key issue.

There will also be more tactical variety in terms of tyres in 2026: four dry compounds will be available for dry conditions. In addition, there will be intermediates for mixed conditions and classic rain tyres – perfect conditions for exciting strategic decisions depending on the track and weather.

New technology, new rules and a record starting grid bring a breath of fresh air to every session. Those who learn quickly, use upgrades wisely and manage resources cleanly will set the tone. One thing is certain: this season will be intense, close – and completely open until the final.
