The paddock was shaken on Wednesday morning. Roy Seifert is stepping down with immediate effect.

".. with little practice and a lack of time for driving, I'm not enjoying driving. Sometimes I had to cancel races because I didn't get home in time, sometimes I drove like I did on Sunday, the first time it was ‘RACEDAY". Said the man from Mainz as the reason for his retirement.

Seifert, a permanent member of the VFC since 2022, began his career in what was then D2. He made his debut as a substitute driver for Manziel GP at the 2022 Portugal GP, where he immediately finished 8th. Shortly afterwards, Seifert took over the cockpit from Alexander Hess at Blue Horns (formerly Volksmobil) and finished the season there.

In 2023, he started the season without a full-time cockpit, but was able to impress as a substitute driver with 4th place in Brazil, and as in 2022, he took over Alexander Hess' vacant seat in the season, but this time at Falcon Simracing. He secured his only VFC podium finish in Hockenheim.

In 2024, Seifert started his first season as a full-time VFC driver at Falcon Simracing. His season was characterised by mixed results. In late summer, he accepted an offer from Optiminal Esports to race alongside Sven Schubert in the 2025 season.

So far, 2025 could be described as an abysmal season for the Mainz native. The first three races of the season were characterised by failures, bad luck and mishaps and now the retirement.

We wish Roy all the best for the future and hope to see him back on the track one day!
