We continue with social media novelties! In this section for the website, we are using a format from the real Formula 1: ‘Five things we learnt from the x GP’ is a slightly different form of race report that allows a little more freedom and creativity. We hope you like it!
Here it is without a lot of fuss:
Five things we learnt from the Australian Grand Prix!
Falcon is much better than the paddock expected

Falcon Simracing was somewhat ridiculed in the run-up to the start of the season. Due to a missed submission, the Falcons are now on the road with a 60 litre tank, 6-speed gearbox and the engine with the least power. The fact that this also has major advantages was simply ignored by the majority of the paddock. The small petrol tank turned out to be a great opportunity as the pit stop can be made on the track at most circuits. This allowed Schlüter to fight for victory again.
Razor are early favorites for the Team Championship's Title

Razor GP has made the best start to the season in the team's history! Second place for Bastian Paisler and a thankless fourth place for Fabian Walter catapulted the chrome-coloured racers to the top of the Team World Championship. If the pace from Melbourne can be maintained, the team championship will only go through Razor GP. The competition will therefore have to bring out the other guns.
Schubert in the early form of his life

It was Sven Schubert's first podium at the start of the season since 2014! The Swabian, who normally starts the season rather slowly, never seemed worried about losing the victory; even on worn tyres, he outmanoeuvred Marc Schlüter at the restart and was able to rely on Paisler's concrete barrier from then on. Schubert's verdict after the race: ‘Everything went exactly according to plan.’
The Rookies know how to impress

With Magnus Okkenhaug, Massimiliano Ribolli, Sander van Leeuwen, Janson Bintz, Joonas Kaurala and Junio Lopes, there were de facto six rookies on the grid. Okkenhaug celebrated a successful debut with P6 in the race and van Leeuwen surprised everyone in qualifying by making it straight into Q2. The remaining rookies were also convincing, although some of them were unlucky due to accidents and track limits.
Refueling makes the Races even more exciting

The league management announced in the winter that it would go back to its roots and reintroduce refuelling, which turned out to be a complete success in Melbourne! Exciting duels due to different amounts of petrol, tactical tricks and much more. We look forward to more of this!
