Another exciting personnel decision is taking shape for the 2027 VFC season: Heiko Kolvenbach and Tim Hauck will race together next year for a new, currently unknown team. The move brings together two drivers who are both taking a fresh step for the upcoming season and will share the same garage in 2027.

For Kolvenbach, the move means more than just a change of team. After racing for Optiminal Esports, he wants to take on a more responsible role again and help lead and develop a team. Alongside him will be Tim Hauck, a young and hungry driver who is also looking for a new challenge and hopes to benefit from Kolvenbach’s experience.

Kolvenbach: “Tim and I will go down this path together”

Heiko Kolvenbach first looked back on his time at Optiminal Esports with gratitude, while also turning his focus toward the upcoming season:

“First of all, I would like to thank Rouven for giving me the chance to race for Optiminal last year and this year, and also Sven as my teammate, with whom I laughed a lot and had a lot of fun.

Next year, Tim and I will go down this path together and share the garage. I have found the desire again to lead a team once more, and I am looking forward to the challenges ahead.

With Tim, I also have a driver by my side who is young and hungry, and someone I may be able to support and help along the way.

Finally, I would like to thank Rouven and Sven once again and wish them the best of luck for the future.”

Kolvenbach’s words make it clear that this move is about more than just a new cockpit. It is about a new task, taking on responsibility, and the opportunity to build something together with Hauck.

Hauck: “I hope to learn a lot from him”

Tim Hauck is also looking forward to the new partnership. For him, the move is above all a chance to take the next step alongside an experienced driver:

“I am happy to be racing in the same team as Heiko. Heiko is one of the most experienced drivers on the grid, and I hope to learn a lot from him.

The cooperation we already had before will now become much better, as we will be sharing the same garage.”

With that, a driver pairing is forming for 2027 that combines experience with development potential. While Kolvenbach brings routine and leadership qualities, Hauck gets the opportunity to continue developing in a new environment and learn from one of the most experienced drivers in the field.

Which team will be behind the new project is currently still unknown. One thing is clear, however: with Heiko Kolvenbach and Tim Hauck, an interesting duo is forming for the 2027 VFC season — one that could create an exciting dynamic both on track and within the team.
