Dutchman van Leeuwen joined the VFC without much fanfare at the invitation of Optiminal. Few expected him to make such an impact as a consistent and strong midfield rider. Van Leeuwen stands out above all for his calm riding style and his tyre-friendly approach. This has enabled him to achieve some strong results so far, and van Leeuwen has become an integral part of the VFC.
